How to Use Vanilla Oil
- In a diffuser: add 3–5 drops to the water in your diffuser, following the diffuser maker's instructions. The oil is thick, so warming the bottle in your hands helps it flow.
- In a DIY perfume: use vanilla as the base note. Blend a few drops with lighter top and middle notes in a carrier oil such as jojoba, or in perfumer's alcohol, and let it rest a few days before use.
- On skin and hair: Dilute: mix with a carrier oil such as coconut, jojoba or sweet almond.
- Patch test: apply a little to the inner arm and wait 24 hours.
- Apply: massage the blend into skin, or smooth a few drops over hair ends for scent.
- Never apply undiluted to skin or scalp.
