Sunflower Wax is a natural, plant-derived wax obtained from the winterization of sunflower oil. It is a hard, brittle wax with a high melting point, making it an excellent natural alternative to synthetic waxes. Its smooth texture and emollient properties make it ideal for cosmetic formulations, enhancing stability, consistency, and texture in various skincare and haircare products.
Uses
- Acts as a thickener and stabilizer in creams, lotions, and balms
- Improves the texture of lip balms, lipsticks, and solid perfumes
- Provides structure and hardness to anhydrous formulations like salves and ointments
- Used as a vegan alternative to beeswax in cosmetic formulations
How to Use
- Recommended usage level: 2–10% in formulations
- Melt Sunflower Wax in the oil phase of your formulation at 70–85 °C
- Blend thoroughly with other oils, butters, and active ingredients before cooling
- Allow to cool and solidify before packaging
