Candelilla Wax is a natural, plant-based wax derived from the leaves of the Euphorbia cerifera shrub, native to Mexico. This yellowish-brown wax is known for its glossy finish, high melting point, and excellent emollient properties. It is widely used in skincare, haircare, and cosmetic formulations as a vegan alternative to beeswax. Candelilla Wax helps stabilize emulsions, provides structure to balms and sticks, and enhances skin hydration without clogging pores.
Benefits:
- Plant-based and vegan-friendly wax
- Enhances the texture and consistency of formulations
- Acts as a natural thickening agent and stabilizer
- Forms a protective barrier on the skin and lips
- Improves spreadability in creams and lotions
- Adds shine and firmness to lipsticks and balms
How to Use:
-
Melt Candelilla Wax with oils or butters during the oil phase of your formulation. It typically melts at 68–73°C (154–163°F). Use at 1% to 20% depending on desired consistency—higher percentages for balms or sticks, lower for emulsions or creams. Blend thoroughly before cooling and pouring into containers.
